For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of embodying Albert Wesker in the “Resident Evil” franchise, a journey that reached its culmination with “Teppen” in 2019. It’s been a ride filled with bad assery and unforgettable memories that will forever hold a special place in my heart. However, as all good things must come to an end, my final gig with Capcom was not a game but a 2-day test performance-capture shoot in 2020.
Negotiations for future projects didn’t align with our mutual goals, leading to the end of this era. And honestly, as much as I love Wesker, I’m not quite sure how convincing he would sound coming from an 80-year-old. So, with a mix of gratitude and relief, I’ve embraced this transition.
Throughout the years, Capcom’s casting decisions have been influenced by various factors, including logistics and economics. I hold no hard feelings towards them for moving in different directions. Instead, I had hoped to pen a heartfelt love letter to celebrate this chapter and express my gratitude to the fans who have supported me along the way.
Unfortunately, recent events have overshadowed these intentions. Heather Vandagriff, in an attempt to damage my relationship with Capcom, made defamatory claims against me on Reddit, alleging that I leaked “Resident Evil 4” artwork online. Let me set the record straight: I did no such thing.
What I did do was address Heather’s questionable actions regarding a Discord server created in my name without my permission. Our conversation didn’t end well, leading her to leave a streaming group I had organized during the pandemic. Subsequently, she embarked on a mission to tarnish my name and online reputation, even collaborating with my stalker. It’s a saga that defies logic, and I’ve documented it elsewhere for those brave enough to venture down that rabbit hole.
Needless to say, Heather’s efforts gained traction, with gaming blogs and strangers alike running with her narrative. It’s a reminder of the power of misinformation in today’s digital age.
So, here I am, bidding farewell to wesker actor and the “Resident Evil” universe, signing off to enjoy real-life interactions with flesh-and-blood people. As I move forward, I look forward to new gigs playing creepy villains and embracing whatever adventures lie ahead.
